Wat is mammacare?
Nadat er bij u, of een naaste van u, borstkanker wordt geconstateerd komt u vaak in een intensief behandeltraject van het ziekenhuis terecht. De behandeling van borstkanker wordt meestal als zeer ingrijpend ervaren. Hierbij kunt u denken aan operaties, chemotherapie, bestralingen en littekens. Als gevolg van de behandelingen in het ziekenhuis kunt u te maken krijgen met een beschadigde huid en vochtophopingen door een beschadigd lymfevatsysteem.
Bij Huidtherapie Juno bieden wij u het totaalpakket aan nazorg aan, speciaal op uw behoeftes afgestemd. Wij zijn gespecialiseerd in de zorg voor mannen en vrouwen na borstkanker. Naast het behandelen van lymfoedeem en littekens kunnen wij u ook helpen met het aanmeten van borstprotheses en speciale prothese lingerie/badmode. U krijgt een uitgebreid huidadvies mee. Daarnaast werken wij nauw samen met onder andere artsen, psychologen, sociologen en fysiotherapeuten.

The treatment
The fitting of breast prostheses is done by a skin therapist who specializes in breast care. If you have a breast prosthesis fitted for the first time, we will schedule 60 minutes of treatment time. In addition to the intake interview, there is sufficient time to fit different models of breast prostheses. It is of course also possible to fit prosthetic lingerie and / or swimwear.
It is also possible to schedule an appointment for fitting a new breast prosthesis because your old breast prosthesis is worn out or no longer fits properly. It is also possible to schedule an appointment for fitting prosthetic lingerie and / or swimwear.
Preparations
For fitting a breast prosthesis we would like to ask you to bring an old bra that you like. This way we can estimate which prosthetic lingerie suits you.
Wear comfortable clothing to facilitate taking off and putting on.
Please inform us of your bra size when planning the appointment.
How many treatments
The fitting of a breast prosthesis, lingerie and / or swimwear is one-off.
Aftercare
During the treatment we will give you advice on how you can best wash and maintain your prosthesis, prosthetic lingerie and / or swimwear.
It is important to take good care of your skin. We recommend hannah First Aid, this cream immediately gives a soothing, anti-flammatory effect and is extra caring and intensive recovery for even the most sensitive skin types.
