Electric hair removal

Electric hair removal

What is electrical epilation?
Electric epilation (EE) is a hair removal method where the hair is permanently removed. Despite new (laser) techniques, electric hair removal remains a very proven method because it is applicable to all hair colors and body parts, with the exception of thin downy hair. However, this is a time-consuming treatment, which means that it is usually applied only for the face. The result is very effective.

What can we handle?
All hairs with the exception of thin down hair. The purpose of the treatment is a permanent hair reduction.

The treatment
For the first treatment you will receive an intake interview and photos will be made. These will be used to map the results of the treatments. The skin is then cleaned and disinfected. The treatment itself is not completely painless. You can experience a stimulating feeling. It is possible to apply an anesthetic EMLA cream prior to treatment. This cream is only available on prescription through the doctor. During the treatment, a small needle is inserted into the hair follicle, after which a current burst is delivered. This will destroy the hair follicle and no hair will return at that location. The hair is released by the surge and can be removed. Because not all hairs are in the same growth phase, multiple treatments are often needed.

In some cases your health insurer reimburses the treatment. For this we ask you for a referral letter from the doctor or specialist.

Preparations
Stop waxing or epilation at least three weeks before treatment, and between treatments. The use of a razor blade, scissors or hair removal cream is possible.
For the treatment, the hair must have a minimum length of three millimeters.

How many treatments?
Because hairs have different growth phases, it is difficult to estimate exactly how many hairs you have. The treatment frequency therefore depends on the amount of hairs. The frequency decreases, the more treatments there have been.

Aftercare
Flakes and scabs may develop after treatment. Do not scratch this, they will let go.
Avoid direct sunlight and the tanning bed for at least a week after the treatment.

Protect your skin for at least a week with an SPF 30. We recommend hannah Juvi Protect, this is a product that protects, soothes and reduces skin irritations.
You can camouflage your skin with mineral makeup after treatment. We recommend Jane Iredale PurePressed Powder.

compensation
Most additional packages have coverage for electrical epilation. For the amount of reimbursement from your health insurer, we recommend that you contact your health insurer.
After the treatment you will receive an invoice that you can submit to your insurer.
