Omdat geven leuker is dan krijgen. Delen van kennis is niet alleen wat ik leuk vind. Geluk is een rekensom. Om het te vermenigvuldigen moet je delen! Daarom deel ik met trots mijn tijdschrift met iedereen.

Why do I want to share this with you?
On Mother's Day all entrepreneurs try to sell as much as possible. The offers are flying around you. I don't want to join in the craziness. Suppose you just lost your mother or can't have children of your own. May you not be celebrated or celebrate more yourself? Of course it is! You are beautiful as you are. That's why I'd rather share today than sell. Read below where mother's day comes from.

Every year we celebrate Mother's Day but why? And where does the phenomenon actually come from?
That's how it started
The day finds its origin in ancient Greece. Not the ordinary mothers were put in the spotlight, but it was a day to honor Rhea, the mother of the gods.
The 'Mother Sunday' was celebrated in England in the seventeenth century. This was the Sunday before Easter when servants returned home to visit and honor their mother. They also brought a special cake for her.
The current Mother's Day
In 1907 Anna Marie Jarvis started promoting a day for mothers in America. Her own mother died in 1906 on the second Sunday of May and Anna wanted to do something to pay tribute to all mothers. A year after her mother's death, again on the second Sunday of May, Anna gave a carnation to every mother present in the church.
Anna entered into collaboration with schools, businessmen and politicians. The result: the governor of West Virginia called on everyone in 1910 to celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May. And in 1914, then President Woodrow Wilson decided that that second Sunday in May would be the national holiday Mother's Day.
