Help the flu! This is how you protect your skin.
by Katrien Verheye
"What do you look like! Are you okay?"
The flu is prevalent. Everyone sees that on your skin, it becomes dull and lifeless. If you look in the mirror, you think a bad actor is looking at you.
What is going on?
You have the flu or you have a cold. At least you have to deal with a major infection. Your body needs all the energy to focus on that. Your skin is then subordinate and you can see that. You miss the vital appearance that you have differently. The blood flow is decreasing. Often all your cavities are well-filled and the lymph system is very busy cleaning up all waste. That's why you also get those wonderful bags that you can get if you are sick or have a cold.
What are you doing in the meantime?
What you can do best is first and foremost look out. Your body must first regain its strength and then recover well. But of course you can also do something while being sick. If you have to blow a lot, you know it: a red, runny nose. You can prevent this by keeping your nose well greasy. Then you might shine a little, but with a red skin nose you are not charming either and that takes much longer. If you rub your nose regularly for a few days, you will see that the sheets are really less and may not come at all. If your nose is closed, breathe through your mouth and lick your lips more often. Then you also get chapped lips, use a lip balm for that.
How do you repair the damage?
If you have recovered, you will have to repair less damage in this way. The moisture slowly disappears when your cold passes. You can also stimulate the circulation during your cold by steaming: the heat ensures a better circulation of your skin. I always put some chamomile tea in the water myself. Good against the inflammation. Do not forget to rub your face well with a cream when you are done steaming. Your skin is wonderfully warm and well-blooded and really needs some protection.
What are you doing?
I am very curious what you do to support your skin in case of illness and cold. Do you have fun facts or habits yourself? Leave your comment below. Your response is valuable to me and others, but above all to yourself.
